Harper Bridges

GNR at Holme, c1880

This bridge was built over the GNR south of Peterborough, and its date is unknown.  The bridge was built at the level crossing, over a double track.  The section from London to Peterborough was quadrupled around 1887, and this would have meant the demolition of this bridge (in contrast to the one at Offord which is built over the quadrupled track, maybe in association with this work, and so around 1887).  I have arbitrarily assigned the date 1880 on this basis.

The masts are of wood with cable tensioners at the mastheads and at the deck level.
